Paintings are accompanied by the author's poems. Translated into English by Andrey Kneller

Painting on Xuan paper, 84 x 60 cm, 2005
SUNRISE
There, day and dusk were cut in half,
And light revealed its face.
The kind merchant lit the pot
And couldn’t move his gaze.
Nature revealed its art-form as if
Tomorrow the sun wouldn’t rise.
The poet, trembling like a leaf,
Admired the brightening skies.
And each grew quiet, expecting their sun
To rise to their delight,
The merchant watched the boiling pot,
The poet saw the light.
